LWCS Trustee Information
Betty Wojcik is the City’s appointed representative on the LWCS Board of
Trustees. She grew up in Americus, Georgia, where she started her
35-year career in chamber of commerce and economic development
management. She is a certified economic developer, who worked with
communities in Georgia and Illinois before moving to Lake Wales in 2005,
when she accepted the position of executive director of the Lake Wales
Area Chamber of Commerce. She was elected to the Lake Wales City
Commission in April 2011. She is a graduate of DePaul University with a
Bachelor of Arts in Economic Development Management. Mrs. Wojcik has
served as President of the Rotary Club of Lake Wales and on the board of
Unity-in-Community, Lake Wales Main Street, and East Polk Committee of
100. She is a graduate of Leadership Lake Wales Class 10 and Leadership
Polk Class III. Mrs. Wojcik and her husband, Bill, live in the Lake
Ashton community. She has one son and three grandchildren who currently
live in Tennessee.
