Hillcrest has partnered with Apple Computer to add innovative classroom technology, as part of the “Apples in Education” program. Students and teachers are using iPads and iPod touch devices to improve learning in every subject area.
“Students are different now than five or 10 years ago. They thrive in technology and Apple embraces this,” said Principal Damien Moses. “Partnering with Apple works with our 3- to 5-year technology plan.”
Hillcrest Elementary’s professional development plan for staff includes training on a wide range of technology topics.
“We want our teachers to have the best tools and technology possible, so they can continue to provide top-notch teaching to our students and keep students engaged in the classroom,” said Moses. Upon completion of ten technology trainings, teachers are assigned an iPad.
